Police taking action against indecent behaviour
The police in Nagpur have started cracking down on couples in public parks by kicking them as an ongoing campaign against indecent behaviour.
The police have rounded up 54 couples so far on accusations of behaving indecently in public places, an agency reported.
“There’s no restriction on visiting or sitting in the garden in a proper way but if someone is found sitting on someone’s lap, we will take action,” Additional police Commissioner Bhushan Upadhyaya said.
Officers will pay surprise visits two to three times a week to parks to ensure proper behavior by young couples, Upadhyaya said.
A similar campaign earlier this year in the northern city of Meerut led to protests after overzealous police beat up teenaged girls and shaved the heads of their suitors.
Editor’s Note:- Friends what do you think of this cultural policing against so called indecent behaviour. Have you ever been roughed up by the police for coochie-cooing in a public place? I strongly support such actions by police, simply because this is not moral pilicing. this is what is spoiling the new generation, no matter what youths will say, but we all know what happens between a couple sitting in dark corners, exposing their dark desires. Its all not only immoral but also bad for individuals and about character of people involved. Well done Napur police, no matter what immature and inexperienced people might argue. This is an absolutely essential activity.

I’d say our society is giving importance to unnecessary things, this should be a free country. Instead of cracking down harmless couples, I’m there are heaps of other issues that need to be attended by the police eg. police having a bath atleast once in a month or something. that would keep them clean.

well we all know what these cops do, and the people who are supporting this well they have just forgotton there times when they used to do this, now they cant to parks with there kids but some years back they used to do the same stuff, they dont have consideration for the their younger generations and there kids are going to do the same stuff in couple of years and if they got beaten by cops they will go to the police station and ask what has he or she doen, they were just sitting, so please stop supporting them, these cops wont suport you ever,

The police should be encouraged to take action against couples behaving badly. Its not considered moral policing…..!!!! But I do object to the shaving of the head and kicking. Some of you guys seem to hate the police for taking action against such couples. People who encourage such indecent behaviour are usually sick weirdos (peeping toms)…..Why cant people just do these things in their home? Do famalies really want to see people touching each other in a public place? NO!!! If this behaviour is encouraged then soon people will be having sex behind the trees! Couples in love do crazy things, and this attracts unwanted attention esp for the girl. BE RESPONSIBLE !!!

The mutual attraction between humans is the root cause. Think it over, If people were not attracted, they would not go to parks, So police would not arrest people.
Without mutual attraction, people cannot make children. which means no tension of taking them to park.

Police in India should focus on catching the ISI and SIMI agents spread in India.Instead they are busy giving surprise checks in gardens.I had bad experience with cops when i was in park with my GF.They do this only for money(Bribe) because they know most of the Girls are afraid of their parents.Its all done for MONEY! You have good and bad about this issue… The police should not act as THEY HV EVERY RIGHT TO HIT PPL.. but in case if the couples go beyond the limits.. its really un comfortable for other public.. and hence police could handle it in better fashion by advising and making couples not to do wrong things..

i can relate to the harrased couples. i’ve been harrased by the police also. but we must draw a clear line between normal and indecent behaviour. A smart policeman wud have gone to the couple and said “Sir,can u please tone down wat u r doing.”… but only if they are really doing something obscene!

One side it should be exhibited with due respect to it on the other side it should not and cannot be restricted by anybody. What can the police do on the paintings at Ajanta and Ellora which portrays diffirent postures of love and kamasutra. If they treat that has heritage and respect it. Why not they respect true love and sex?? Police in INDIA will do anything for money. They will promote prostitution one side and they will control prostitution other side.
