Quota reservation is required, there is no doubt about it. It can not be allowed only privillaged people to enter the education system and rule the country. In our india education is not equal. It is a paid service. If all the education atleast up to 12 th standard, if it is free of cost to all then there is no need of reservation. We people allowed private peoples to enter in to the education system. Let the government order to leave all the private people from the education system atleat up to 12 th standard then there is no need of reservation. Is it possible??. In metroplitan cities primary education (LKG & UKG) costs up to Rs.50,000.00 or still more. What about entrance coaching, it costs more than a lakh rupees. who can afford this??????. Remove this unequality first. Youth should fight against this then youth should talk about Quota??????????????.

Why is every brahmin/non-obc afraid of reservation.
It has worked well in america and South India. I doubt they care abt merit.
If we are so concerned abt India, try sharing your cake with other Indians. When it comes to marriage you dont want an OBC? when it comes to elections you want an non-OBC i.e BJP? So we pay all the taxes for you to enjoy our money? c’mon this is hypocrisy

first of all thanks to the editor for such a noble cause. debonairblog is the best. to all pro quota people, tell me, is it our fault that u all were treated badly? why should people like us suffer because some idiots discriminate against u all? everyday we see that many reserved category people, not as hard working or intelligent as some more meritious candidates, do better in life due to undue advantage. my sister has always been a topper and is teaching as an adhoc lecturer in DU but her friend, who’s record is not as good as her (and mind u, she is from a richer family than us) has a permanent lecturer job in DU, a house alloted in Rajouri Garden (a posh area). is this fair? this is just 1 example. i don’t know how many examples like this r there. 2 friends of mine r studying engineering from DCE though their marks in class 12 was b/w 60 to 65 % (they never faired well in school exams as well).i got 84% but couldn’t clear DCE. my other sister studies in IIT KANPUR. a student there made a SC/ST certificate (he was from so called upper caste) and is in IIT KANPUR. see how much undue advantage reservation gives. u say u r fighting for equality. is this equality? and when u r demanding (not requesting) reservation, u know that (though u will never admit it) that u r below par. if not, then why don’t u compete in general category. and when u say reservation had effect in america, r u so ignorent that u don’t realize the difference between our country and america? in america reservation was done to help the oppressed, in our country it is done for vote, and it will always be done for that. i know i will not change the mindframe of even a single person, but just remember one thing - zindgi mein koi bhi safalta, agar insan ki khoon ke keemat par aaye, to woh sab bekar hai. Ishwar/Allah/God sab dekh raha hai. general category ki zindgi tabah kar ke tum log kab tak sukhi rahoge, ek na ek din Upaar Wala hamari bhi sunega.

This is all bullshit - these are those people (anti-quota junkies) who want to suppress downtroddens for ages. They and there bullshit corrupt ideas. Today also you can see these butt-holes try to rule others. Reservation was a compromise that came out of pune-pact where we (pro-quota folks) asked for a seperate electorate and gandhi went against us. These people think others are born to do their dirty work and they rule the country. These are those junkies who have been trying to break india for ages. Today muslims are asking for their rights and seperate government in kashmir just because of these people and their destructive views. If reservation was that bad to society than why was it not opposed right from day one. why create chaos today. These junkies are parasites to society.

Wise people won’t follow these butt-holes…

vrvet, who told u admit ur child in such a school?there are lots of quality govt. schools around.everyone in my family studied in such schools.u may not any find luxury in such schools ie;thatched roofs, lack of benches,45 to50 students in a class room.i see students from various backgrounds in that school; from very rich to very poor families.we never gave any imprtance to where we came from.we shared what we had for lunch with other students in the class.it was not so long ago;i’m just 24 now.all those things helps me to realise what’s happening around me now. do wee really need quotas?i think we need more quality educational instituion run by Govt.did quotas do any good for tribals?see, they are asking for help from the same politicians who stand firmly for quotas.

For the 1st and the 8th comments, reservation should not be just based on the “surname” but the criteria should be different(which is economic basis). There should eb no quota for IIT,IIM and any other professional courses.

I M NOT AGAINST RESERVATATION NOR NON RESERVATATION,BUT INSTEAD OF THIS I M WITH FACT,

According to economics as well as finance ,theory says,u need to reserve in high ratio only when their is a critical sistuatation can be seen from a long distance ,other wise their is no need to reserve or quatas,it every thing is moving on a track, this implies that in a furutre our train of progess is going to out of track, it also says that congress from a last 50 years ,is not capable of doing any thing, which is very much clear from the point that instead of decreasing the reservatationS u are increasing it, secondly, if u realy want to help other back ward classes instead of reservations u should give finincial ad to the talent abong them, instead of giving hand of yours, let help them by giving scolorships to other backward class,if u provid reservatation to normal catogary or either to the backward catogary you are killing the talent among normal and among the backward classes, this will lead down the economy of india in a downward direction in the long term ,and due to this the rate of inflatation is much much higher as compare to other developing countries ot other developed countries,SO A SLIGHT DESIONS OF YOURs CAN CHANGE THE FACE OF YOUR STANDRAD OF LIVING,BECAUSE HIGH INFLATATION MEANS LESS PURCHASING POWER,THAT MEANS GOODS ARE GOING TO BE MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE THAN YOUR INCOME,ON THE OTHER HAND RESERVATATION ARE EXPLOITING THE TALENT AMONG BOTH THE CLASSES,
SO PLEASE BE A PART OF THIS ACT,AS YOUR DECISION CAN CHANGE THE FACE OF INDIA WHERE YOU ARE LIVING

i fail to understand the rationale in the excuses behind ongoing anti-reservation protests.First of all few seats of IITs,IIMs,AIIMS,etc doesnt decide India’s competitiveness, globally. The most prominent excuse is MERIT.Does a 3hr question paper enough to judge the real ‘merit’ of a person.Merit is nt n inborn quality. It depends upon several ’social’ aspects, too. Moreover ‘merit’ is significant only in egalitarian societies with ‘equal-leval-playing’.Certainly not in india.Even then every reputed coll have a min cut-off limit applicable to every candidate irrespective of his/her caste.further after gaining admission there r various internal exams where students r graded uniformly without ant consideration of their caste.this implies that if an SC/ST/OBC is passing out frm the coll he is equally ‘meritorious’ as GENERAL candidate wud be.Astonishingly, there is never any hue or cry against CAPITATION FEE/NRI QUOTA/MANAGEMNT QUOTA where one gets enrty purely on the basis of money.

Guys, no matter what you are saying, I hope you do believe somewhere in your heart that the current stunt pulled off by the government is nothing but a politically motivated move. This doesnt mean we start cutting each other’s throats while those lazy old fat bastards called politicians watch it on TV and enjoy it like Reality TV.
Think logically, a person who has an MBBS degree is surely not backward. He can get into any college for PG if he puts in the work required. If he cant, then he is plain incompetent. Im not against reservations. I just oppose too much of reservation (49.5%..what the hell?) Too much of a good thing is always bad. You seriously dont need or would want reservations in PG entrances too. C’mon now, Dont be so greedy.
Let us just remember that this protests have started mainly in AIIMS (and other delhi medical schools) and IITs….Considering the very small number of seats in these institutions, it is logical that they stage a protest. Let us not help those politicians turn it into a national issue for the elections….
Reservations as such were fine (dont deny it) until Arjun “Fucker” Singh had to put his pencil brain into use…

there is lot of hue and cry against reservation. reservation is a complex issue.a national debate has to be there on reservation.if there is a uniform standard of education there is no need of reservation in any form.the people who are raking the issue of reservation have to keep their senses right.when they can say that merit should be considered, then why the hell are they not opposing payment seats and management quota?ask a student who has paid lakhs fr a management seat abt his marks?do u think he has scored90?the students who are opposing in the name of merit are the students who have paid lakhs fr their seat.there are 492 professors in IIT’s and only 2 belongs reserved catagory. is this equality.Brahmins and some uppercaste man have spoiled our hindi society in the name of god since ages now its their turn to sit and watch the progress of the people who were suppressed all these yrs.
a person who comes on quoto may have a diff of few marks fr the general category. but watch out the diff of students who comes on management

so be broadminded, and wrk fr equality.if u really want to wrk fr equality then shed ur thread,ur surnames, and walk alng with the progress of everyone

well bunty, it is ur complex that is speaking for u. u know that u don’t stand a chance of competing against us so u want reservation. and the language u r using shows ur level. not a single anti-reservation person has used such language (though we have a real reason for using such language) and i hope they use it now.

I supprt Reservation, we should give a chance to ppor peoples from vilages or somewhere else. and we should not think our self only.In the city if some one becomes a Doctor so he/she aint ready to go to poor vilages and take responsbilities.atleast who ever comes from vilages he/she will go to their hometown and give treatment to poor ppls…., rest is upon you ppls think about country devlopment not individual devlopment. In my opinion the best solution of ending this agitation is the 20 % educational institutions should be earmarked to quota people and finish reservation in rest.
these institutions will be called quota institutions with quota students and quota teacher and degree should be as MBBS (Q) or BE Q etc so that politiciains could know where to go for their treatment

My queries to all these people protesting against reservation—-wasnt tht ‘reservation’ whn in 19th centuary upper-class educated indians asked for some reservation in INDIAN CIVIL SERVICES(present IAS).Isnt tht a ‘concession’ when some downtrodden industries/countries are provided tax-exemption,Social-Eco Zones(SEZs),World Bank loans to bring them in mainstream.Just recently india asked for few exemptions before signing NPT.World accepts such concession to bring up the downtrodden.Friends ‘they’(SC/ST/OBC) constitute more than 75% of india’s population.50% seats for 75% citizens:is it more? Certainly they are not eating away ‘our’ seats.Lastly govt is determined to increase the seats in proportion to the proposed quota.’General’ candidates are safe. Then whts the point of keeping the strike on??
IF every place in india wud be like delhi and every child have the resources as we do,then there would be no need of reservation. But sadly this isnt the case.Even today in many places dalits are not allowed to visit the temples, they are locked inside homes during elections, their houses burnt and women raped.IF WE ARE UNAWARE OF SUCH INDIA THEN WE MUST BE IGNORANT OR PLANELY INSENSITIVE.
Surely the reservation policy should be implemented though minus the ‘creamy layer’.Further policy should be modified to even absorb the economically downtrodden ‘upper-caste’ people.
EVERY ONE OF US DREAMS OF A DEVELOPED INDIA.NO DOUBT IT WOULD ONLY BE WORTH IF WE CARRY OURSELVES WITH EVERY SECTION OF SOCIETY

    Dear Editor,

Thanks for bringing up these issue. It’s high time we realize that the government is relying on a divide and rule policy. They do not want to provide social justice, rather they want to show that they are providing social justice, but deepen the rift in society and thereby maintain social inequality, for their own benfit of votes.

what a bulletin and comments i just read ….. lot quota supporters…… I AM AMONG THEM…. i run with short of words when i think about 49.5%…..its been more than 15 years now….. but can u see any difference in the education system….. or can u see backward classes coming upwards anyhow??? answer is simple NO…. why?? because the root is still not getting good education…. if u give water to the leaves the tree would not grow……. but root does everything for the tree…..LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR TO U… I AM NOT AGAINST RESERVATION….but there is no use of reserving seats for SC ST and OBC’s…..lot of SC ST and OBCs are no more backward ….. n believe it or not….. the whole government bodies r currupt because of this reservation system……
Now coming to the main topic…..let me refresh ur memory…. 50% of the reserved seats at IIT’s are vacant… ask WHY??? answer is coz the reserved students are not good enough to study there… last year 7 studets were fired from IIM A alone….. coz they were not good at studies and they all were from reserved quota… they were gives a chance in GO SLOW course… but again they failed…..so the mgmt was forced to fire them…..
As i said i am not against reservation…. but why 49.5% …. it means alot….. secondly… why to reserve the seats for SC ST n OBC’s… reserve the seats for the deserving candidates…. dont ask WHO ARE THEY?? Simple…. pplz living powerty line should get the reservation… n not only at the TOP level but from the primary education……. n not 49.5….. but at most 30….read this n reply….. n if u r not ready to accept this fact…. then trust me its not ur country yall backward classes… n not even arjun singh’s…

Reservation is simply shit I wud say as it is only a mean for collecting votes. if u provide 50% quota to ppl of a specific caste then how come they are called ST or SC coz only VIP’s use to get quota. and is there that much percentage of those ppl in India who are given that quota. And in this community where we say that everybody is equal we are talking about quota to really make those ppl look inferior.

And these days its a very easy task to get aSC/ST certificate by just bribing some govt. officials hence the only ppl who’ll get profit out of this move is the rich and nobody else.
