Uttering talaq in sleep lands couple in soup
A Muslim couple in Jalpaiguri district have been ordered by local religious leaders to separate as the husband allegedly uttered talaq three times in his sleep. [Full Story]
The leaders, quoting the Shariyat, ruled that the talaq has to be implemented and if it is not acceptable, the only alternative was temporary separation for 100 days during which the wife will live at her father’s house and spend a night with another man.

I am really amazed by this. However, I have got few doubts…..
T) If they are (were) Husband & Wife then why the hell they were sleeping?
A) If he uttered something while sleeping, why she was awake?
L) Who the hell was there, who heard/overheard his Talaq Talaq Talaq?
A) If she was another wife, then it could be for her too?
Q) What on the earth made that girl go tell this to public? Does she thought that she is one of the dumbo’s featured on this BLOG?????

For Muslims, this is related to their religious traditions. If a person says “talaq” 3 continuous times, then it is form of giving divorce.

Well I thin the “scholars” who actually called it a talaq need to have another lesson in religous stidues. According to Islam the first and foremost part of having a divorce (talaq) is that the man uttering the words should be in his senses i.e. wide awake and should know what he’s talking about!! So I say that this talaq did not happen at all and the couple and continue to live together.

“Talaq ” is a complicated ceremony and it has a set procedure to be the final and binding. Now any one, who is fast asleep and is uttering some words, when not in his senses can not be said to have uttered these words in the true manner as contemplated in Muslim Law. The santity of the institution called “Marriage” is as pure as any holy code and it should be let to be vitiated by any words whatsoever, if not said in its true meaning.

It is ridiculous, those people calling themselves leaders should be shot, or otherwise this may be reported wrongly by the media.
According to the shariyat, Talaq cannot be uttered 3 times in a row. There should be a gap of atleast 1 month between each uttered talaq. And the man should be in his senses all the 3 times.
And also it is wrongly reported in the same article that the woman should sleep with another man before the original couple can unite. I don’t understand why the media is out to tarnish Islam.
According to the shariyat, if a talaq has been successfull and the couple are having second thoughts and want to unite again. Then the girl has to first have a nikah with another man and this man has to talaq her then only the original couple can unite again after having done a nikah. And not necessary the woman has to sleep with this man.
This practise is to protect women, so that the man does not misuse his power to utter talaq and then reunite at his will and wish.

Islam has made it easy for a couple to live in harmony and love and also made it easy for them to part when this harmony and love cease to exist in the marriage. Last week there was an article in Times of India “SC to make divorce easy”.
According to the shariyat it is easy to divorce, and you need not have to go out making your personal issues public.
Don’t you agree it is better to divorce and start a new life instead of trying to drag a sour relationship?

The rules are not obsolete, The rules are correct and applicable in olden times and in the present time as well as in the future. In fact the Supreme court ruling to make divorce easier is an example of the need of the society to move towards these same rules.
In this case the ruling by the so-called mullahs is wrong or maybe misreported by the media.

It’s absolutely funny rule of a section of muslims, and NOT islam. Uttering “Talaq” even a thousand times doesn’t have any effect on marriage in Islam, because just by uttering something, if u can shun the very holy tradition of marriage, that religion is itself funny!
Only muslims who are Shia don’t follow these funny rules which have been made rules of Islam by second caliph Umar who is hated by most of the muslims who know history. He made many changes in Islam, by telling himself that how beautiful this change is! Although, he had no right 2 interfere in Islamic rules. let alone change them. Just the Prophet reserves the right for these things, because he is getting direct commandments from the almighty.
It’s high time that Muslims get mature enough to reject these things which make fun of Islam, although preaches something else.

If a person says “Talaq” 3 times to her wife, whether he is serious, joking, angry, concious or unconcious or whatever it is, is considered as a permanent Divorce. The only way that the person can unite/marry to that woman again, of course with that woman’s consent, is that the woman should marry (make nikah) to another person and must have sexual intercouse with him. After that only if that second person gives her divorce “saying 3 times Talaq”, this woman can marry to the first person.

Looks like you have one track mind of only sex. you mentioned the woman has to have sexual intercourse before remarrying her original husband. What you have mentioned is wrong. They has to be a nikah only, sex is upto them there is no compulsion. Be sure of your facts before you make them public
