Close on the heels of the sex scandal that rocked Amravati district in which BJP and Sena leaders were involved, yet another sex racket was busted in the industrial township of Chandrapur in Vidarbha.

The Chandrapur police rounded up five youths from elite families who were involved in sending pornographic mms to each other. It was said that more youths are involved in the racket and some of them are from families of politicians.

According to reports reaching in Nagpur, few influential politicians from the ruling party are already working hard to protect the accused and are busy trying to hush up the matter.

The police on a tip off, raided a mobile shop that was selling pornographic images of local girls through Internet and multimedia messaging service. The police seized computers and CDs from its office that was being circulated to prospective customers.

Arrested persons include: Aksay Lodha, Sunil Galani, Sheikh Ajiz Gulam, Bindu Bishandas, and Rakesh Mahadeo Gogulwar. The police are also looking for more youths in this connection.

It was said that these youths, mostly from well-to-do families – formed a club - and were involved in such sex racket. The porn clipping of MMS was said to be that of one Nisha (name changed), who is a local girl.

The district police super, Ravindra Kadam said, “We conducted the raid after a complaint that an obscene Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) clip of a local girl was being circulated through mobile phones. One computer and some pornographic tapes were also seized from them.”

The MMS, which came to public attention when it was seen on several mobile sets in the city, shocked locals as they could identify the girl.

The scandal led to unrest among locals and sparked demands for stringent action against those involved in it.
