Sex Advice: Meaning of HIV test result in simple terms

Question. My family follows a tradition of getting an HIV test done prior to marriage. I had the same done along with my fiance and the result read: "non-reactive for antibodies to envelope antigene". What does it mean? Please explain in simple terms, is it negative or positive?

Answer. The test is negative for the infections tested.
