In a bizarre turn of events, Delhi police arrested the reporter of the television news channel in connection with a fake sting operation, showing a mathematics teacher Uma Khurana allegedly forcing schoolgirls into prostitution.
"We have arrested Prakash Singh, reporter of Live India channel, for carrying out a fake sting operation, which showed that Uma Khurana, mathematics teacher of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, was forcing her students into prostitution," said a senior police official.
An official said that Prakash Singh also hired Rashmi Singh, a freelance journalist who writes for a Hindi newspaper, to act as victim in the sting operation. She was reportedly part of the conspiracy to frame Khurana.
Police had arrested Rashmi Singh late Thursday. She has been charged with cheating, fabrication of evidence and criminal conspiracy and was produced in court Friday afternoon.

What about the poor teacher who has been made to undergo hell by this staged sting operation, how will she be released even Delhi Police is clueless, what about her career Delhi Govt sacked her in a hurry, what about the harassment mental trauma, stigma she has undergone.
The culprits must be made to pay dearly and TV news channels must be forced to pay for their part of the misdeed too. They keep repeating their news like mindless drones every 5 minutes till the viewers cry for mercy. Who was behind the mob at Darya Ganj?? Police needs to investigate this aspect also.

This is very bad, but didn't surprise me. Now a days media is totally out of control and this is one of the examples.

This shows how the freedom of press is being blatantly misused and maligned. The agony of Khurana and the pain she and her family suffered can not be redeemed even if the channel is shutdown for ever. This is disgusting and the culprits should be given strictest punishment and the channel should be penalised by shutting off the air. For this reason all the news channels should exhibit a code of decency and honesty which is sadly missing in the run for getting TRPS. The soaps are much better than the news channels at least they dont malign and talk cheap and foolishly. There has to be some sort of discipline and the channel should be held responsible for airing such idiosyncracies.

Yeah !!! Its real pity on the part of the alleged teacher who had faced so many angered and agitated parents of the students. Moreover she was demanded a capital punishment for the act which i guess she hasnt done as per the police reports. The sting operations are by far used as the best way to blackmail people. The broadcast ministry should do something concrete to stop the blackmailing of TV channels. Also take measures so that no individual should be maligned by these white collored blackmailers(TV Channels)

Appeal to the Police to the concerned persons.
please take stringent action on Ms. Rasmi Singh and Mr. Prakash Singh by cancelling their degrees and not permitting them in the future too to work in any media companies. This incident shows us to take necessary action against the criminal psychology which developing the society at an alarming rate. also take action on the Editor who has given permission with checking the truth of the incident

Instead of showing our concern/anger through this site, everyone of us should start a massive signature campaign exerting pressure on the government to have those two punished severely and the whole event of their paying dearly for their heinous crime telecast throughout the country. Only after this will any media person be made to follow a code of personal discipline and conduct. I am very agonised at the thought of how that innocent teacher would have suffered a trauma for no fault of hers. Let's all send in to her at least a word of consolation & support!

The sting operation was partially true UMA KHURANA was guilty and she accepted money for pimping and agreed to send the girl to the reporter.
The report to make the entire episode spicy set up an upcoming model and did the interview.The teacher is completely guilty and should be punished.

I must say this is a very cheap practice to gain viewers by some TV channel.This must be stopped immidiately and reporter engaged must be punished publicly.My full sympathy is with Ms Khurana and my only advise to her is to keep the friendship very limited.
The TV channels must be advised not to show this type of sting operations in future if they them selves are not convinced with the truth.This type of news may help them to gain viewers for a short time but on the long run the same viewers would discrd the channel like a cheep news papers.
