One more interesting thing is that Puja's was a love marriage. Puja & her husband Pratap sinh r of different caste. Castism is having very deep roots in Saurashtra part of Gujarat.
I guess her in-laws were against her bcoz of their love marriage & different caste; after sometime her husband might have joined his parents.
