Q. I am a 16-year-old girl. Two-three years ago, I had started masturbating. But at that time I was unaware of the existence of hymen. I thought it to be an obstruction of some kind and broke it accidentally. Although, I don't remember when and how I did so. I don't even remember, if I bled after I did so. Now that I know about it, I feel very guilty since it may also prove to be a problem later in my sex life. What do I do?
A. There is no need to worry about the absence or presence of hymen. The absence of hymen does not cause any problem later in sex life.

Dear sex-doctor, I think you just considering the gals needs of Europe or US, while in India or Pakistan loosing hymen before marriage is a sin/crime and very very harmfull for the future of evry gal. Unless she take a bold step and could convince her husband to be or husband before first night.

Dude hold on .. d typical myth is dat if d hymen is broken, the girl isnt chaste anymore.. but hymen can be broken accidentally while riding a bicycle , or playing games. So no need to worry .. u have plenty of alibi's and if d guy is understanding he wont be questioning u

unfortunately there r still countries which oppress women in this world, most of them located in the middle east and africa. religion is a very common and cyncal method these countries use, combined with "traditions" such as circumsising young girls for example.
if this girl happens to live in one of the countries as described above, the two commants made earlier r indeed ture and show - in a most tragic and sad way - what human beings still suffer in our "modern" and "enlighted" times.

If you are worried about your chastity being called into question, why not simply go to a doctor who specializes in replacing hymen? They do exist after all. Otherwise, your sex life should proceed uninhibited.

How can we come to know that the gal is having sex for the very first time ????? I mean is it really important that the Gal bleeds if she is having sex for the very first time ????
Editor's Reply:- No, it is not important that the girl bleeds if she is having sex for the first time. This normally happens when she has been lubricated enough due to adequate foreplay.
